Easter

I think one of the greatest disappointments in life is death (irreversible situations).

I believe He came so that we can live a disappointment free life.

If we're able to believe that He can raise people from the dead.
And that He Himself was risen from the dead.

Then shouldn't it be easier for us to believe that our situations (or anything else) can be turned around when things haven't even reached their death?

His story makes it possible that we never stop believing.

Makes it possible that we never never never never never give up.

Makes it possible that we enjoy our every single day.

So that we can be passionate and alive once again and be fruitful.

He's not only able to heal, He's willing

Not only is He willing, He has already done it in advance because He understands, He knew.

he's gonna be alright brother. jiayou.

I'm on standby duty in camp now..
Praise God for the internet man!

A sudden thought to share my thoughts on my life:
Abit of a beginning of something
Abit of a going through of something
Abit of a ending of something
Abit of a everything!
I cant find a word to describe 'my life' actually.
It doesnt make sense!
When i try to make sense out of it, i get disappointed.
The more i do it, the worse it gets
It's made up of randomnesses and unpredictabilities.
Very true, very simple but hard to swallow sia
(it's amazing how commonsensical truth is to many, yet not very appetizing)
Truth is.. we live by faith and not by sight
we have to get comfortable not knowing

"Get use to it!" says He.
"Just go ahead and do life the way you've always been envisioning it to be.
Stick with Me.
Plan it and I'll direct.
Go.
Just do it!
"

Cheers! ;)

Wanted to share about the movie 'The Changeling' but i forgot.
watched it like 2 weeks ago man.

the changeling

Well just wanted to write that i dig the movie. A true story.
A story about a woman who stood for the truth.. nothing else but the truth.
About a hope that is faithful, unwavered, never moved.
It's just so encouraging man!
I like the last part when years had passed and her son still missing.
Everything seemed the same, until something else showed up strengthening her hope simply because it was something new and different.

Reminds me of the times when the feeling's gone and i had to go through all the trouble just to realise, that all that i can do for myself was to stir me up.. by hoping, seeking and crying out..

We complain or emo in our hearts over the things we dont have. But the interesting thing is that we still smile and be filled with joy just thinking thoughts about them once in a while.
This is amazing.. what hope can do for us man. I feel that it's like God's way of assurring so that you keep on hoping and wont give up (NOT so that you keep on emo-ing! lol).. what ya think leh?

This year is gonna be the year i ORD.. i pray for clarity, so i would know where's my next stop latest by then (141209)
it's like, I know what i want but not quite haha

"Alot of times we needa step out to find out." - Joyce Meyer

One step at a time ba =)
God lead the way ar!

i realise there's this consistency in the content of my recent entries ahah.
almost similar yea..
well this is what's been going on so far lor.. perceive it as emo or what i dont care la i like to see it as king David sorting out his thoughts and emotions through his psalms haah.
Well here's something else..
Sometimes i just wish i could go back to the high, anchor moments of.. Okok this is getting no where man ahah yea i hope we can all turn back time but that wont happen so let's work out the future and i thank ya for reading! =)

Bigger the space, lesser the disappointment

Matthew 10:14

It's comforting to know that we can be responsible TO people but not FOR them. People are responsible for themselves.

It's comforting because i realised sometimes no matter how much you try making things happen things just won't.

i want to be patient, i pray to be more patient but still there's this limitation to how far/much more i'd be willing to go.

it's pleasant knowing that my genuiness gains trust, but it sucks to see how fragile trust can be. It takes just 1 X incident to destroy the whole lot of effort.

looking back:
what happen to the trust?
what happen to the friendship and good old times?
what happen to the once-opened heart?

i think it's a result of me going beyond what i am suppose to do.
i failed to understand that sometimes doing nothing could be doing a great deal of something. That i needa provide bigger space for people to change because transformation also means time.

It's just not time yet i guese

Hmm.. so it's not just a comforting fact that we're not responsible FOR people, but a revelation that sets me free from my disappointments over the situation.

dh, no matter what i wont give up on you and i hope you wont give up on us just like that.

Deprivation to Revelation

Back!
I know i havent been blogging since i began serving the ARMY. well alot of things happened within this 7 months man(that's for sure), but for an up to date update, i'm feeling very blessed right now as i look back.

Starting this post right after the one i did 7 months ago brings me back to the old days man. Days when i have so much time to do whatever i wanted but didnt. National Service helped me realise what i call the power of deprivation. Time becomes so priceless now. Time on the internet, books and business.. friends, family and God becomes so valuable all of a sudden.

Deprivation helps me discover what i really need to focus on and gave me purpose.
The state of being deprived resulted in my fruitfullness and breakthroughs.

However negativity can make or break a person man. i've witness people growing colder as they walk the road of negativity aimlessly. i believe confusion is not a bad thing because it proves one desiring a breakthrough but dont know how. but growing colder means one has allowed negativity to take it's toll over him, he has so called given up and has succumbed to whatever life brings.

I met this really nice Chinese guy the other day who told me stories about he's origin. he came from a place with high level of immorality where people get killed almost every single day. That kinda background, culture & up-bringing not just make them stronger than Singaporeans in terms of willpower but also humble them too(Chinese). They have such great attitudes man and conversations with them just blew me away.
The Lord spoke to me again on our need for gratitude.

When we began to realise just how much we've already been blessed living in a better place(Singapore) than the Chinese. With access to unlimited information(through the internet) and many many more good stuff. All of a sudden our problems are not that big anymore compared to people who're less fortunate.
all of a sudden our faith capacity/capacity for problems becomes bigger.

For us to have an attitude of gratitude, we need to first expereince deprivation. if not there's nothing we can relate to to be grateful about.

Whatever situation you're in right now.. as painful as it may be, learn to embrace it man. Be grateful with the big & little things that you already have because they're gonna get you to where you wanna be, not those which are lost.

"A problem is always a problem of faith." - Pst Tan Ye Peng

Afterall no matter how big the problem may seem.. we're all still here.. life goes on and everything is gonna be alright.
Dont grow cold, be bold and trust God =D

"Lord, fill me."

I miss Westlife songs man (Got hooked up again haah), so beautiful.
It just brings back memories, sch & exams, first job as a waiter, the silly infatuations, assignments, blading, blah blah.. the moments.

My heart's stirring with blissful feelings now tripled with new visions & motivation, O how I needed this divine moment!

I realise sometimes we're moving so fast that we tend to forget the 'moments' in our lives.

Our tomorrow becomes our yesterday in a twinkle.
What's the point of striving so hard sometimes for our tomorrow when no one, not even ourselves would care to recall, remember or appreciate when it becomes our yesterday?

Driven by conviction, I've been trying hard for success - the 'ideal lifestyle' (i thank God for the desire), but i'm missing the fact that success, peace & joy is around me, in me, on me, and i'm around, in & on them as well. They're within my reach and come in the form of switches. All i have to do is turn them on whenever i'm empty on the inside.
The voice of Truth told me "The first step to living in victory is to surrender."
Then i realised until I'm filled in the inside, nothing i set out to do would amount to anything.

Life is like a book. The chapters of the moments are precious, i dont want to lose them, i pray they'd stay in my heart while i hold fast to the spine. i want to turn back to page #1 when i'm old and share with my kids and their kids my story, to inspire, to protect, to build, to leave a legacy.
This is what I desire and have set out to do, i find no other reasonable/better options. But there’s still so much more to learn.

Aren't you glad you're able to recall the moments?

Thank God that i still remember..

Zechariah 4:6 (NKJV) & (NLT)
So he answered and said to me: “ This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel:
'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the LORD of hosts.

Then he said to me, “This is what the LORD says to Zerubbabel:
It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit,
says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.

Another Amazing Testimoy

A very powerful testimony of Brian Welch.
Reminds me of the story of the apostle Paul.

(continue when I'm back =)...)

Back!
But not commenting le haha.. the video speaks for itself.
Maybe some questions to ponder over ba:
Brian, how can you walk away from your 'reputation' and walk away from your career which took you time and effort to build to follow/obey Jesus?
How can you kick away oppressive habits just like that *snap*?
Why are you giving these up for His sake?
How did you manage to have it done with?

To us it's siao!(craziness)/courageous/'zai'ness/alot alot of faith/etc
But to Brian, God was real & still is. (That's it)
How real is God to you?

Promises from God:

Proverbs 8:17
I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Acts 17:27
God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

Brian was desperate enough to have God revealed Himself to him
I'm very encourage by his testimony, how bout you my friend?

BUT the Voice of Truth

Voice Of Truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
To the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out his hand

But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. 'Boy, you'll never win!'
"You'll never win"

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
And the voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!"
And the voice of truth says "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a Sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again "boy, you'll never win!
"You'll never win"

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

.

The song is from the movie 'Facing the Giants' which i came across a long time ago and happened to watch it 4 times (not in a roll).
Check it out my friends:
I like this part of the movie.
This part too =)

Do catch it if you ever have the chance

John 14:6 -

Here's Your "Change" Sir?.. Sir?

WAHAHAHAHAH WOW!! never never be the same! amen!
______________________________________________________________

It has come to my first 'Arise and Build', and nowadays i've been listening to quite a few sermons and then the principles of sowing & reaping kept jumping out from those sermons.

So just some thoughts..

It came to my awareness nowadays that people often say things like,
"why is this happening to me all the time?"
"see here it happened again, guess i'm fated to be like that until God knows when it's gonna end."
almost all the time i hear the 'S' word in different versions, "SIAN...", "wa SIAN!" or "SIAN, SIAN, SIAN...", etc.

I understand what they've been going through becaused i've been through that kinda sh!t too and sometimes still. But the truth sets people free, so i hope what i'm about to share would hit a few buttons of theirs and contribute abit to their well-being.

Yes this is to do with the truth of 'sowing & reaping' (the law of nature), the beautiful thing about truth is that it's always there, people tried ways to avoid it, push it aside/someone else, cover it up, even destroy it, but truth is indestructable like an indestructable.. er.. rock, also like a cock it always surfaces, always true, always there. We need to get use to this law of nature which is truth.
Because as much as we don't want to face it, we need to learn about it, get use to it, flow with it like a surfer on the waves. Because you can't change the waves, your only job is to flow with them and enjoy the ride.

Truth never changes, so if we want to see change in our lives, we've got to learn about it, get use to it & flow with it (not try to change truth nor avoid it).

that's the intro, here's the truth i want to share:

What is sown into your life is LOVE (You may be surrounded by loving people who cares), but if what's thriving in you is Bitterness/Anger/Hatred/Unforgiveness/Distrust.
You may not be able to manifest the life of loving relationships with the people around you.

Mother Teresa said "If you judge people, you have no time to love them"

What is sown into your life is EXCELLENCE, but what is thriving in your life could be Mediocrity/Complacency/Laziness/Sianzation.

What is sown into your life is FAITH & HOPE, but what's thriving in you could be
Doubt/Defeat/Fear.

What do these examples tell you?
Well for me it tells me that
- If one is unwilling to accept truth, no matter how hard you try to help them, you'll never gonna see change.
- You can never help somebody in denial
- The first step of getting help is when one starts accepting responsibility because it always starts with the person
- Unless one makes a decision to change, he/she will never have a breakthrough

The seed is in your hand. If you want the harvest you sow the seeds.
you're responsible for the change you say you wanna have.
Like a farmer on his field. He can walk around the field all day complaining about the hot weather, and the pest, and the quality of the soil, etc, etc.
Unless he starts sowing, nothing will ever ever happen. Nothing.

What has been your hot weather/pest/circumstances? let's make a decision to start sowing seeds. sometimes it hurts facing the truth, but it's a guide and meant for your good, it SETS YOU FREE.
The key to Change/Breakthrough is the willingness to accept truth and say "you know what, if i want that harvest so badly, imma sow these seeds right now if this is what it takes, let this day be the day of change!"

A change is not a change until it's changED
Something has gonna stop forever and sth has gonna start from NOW on.
Let's do sth radical to mark/celebrate this day of your breakthrough.
Anything you can think of.. maybe stop saying the 'S' word from now on? (you might be surprised man lol serious! i know because i've done that already hahaha)

Let's really do sth for ourselves & others man.
Life is fun & colouful because IT IS, dont make it dull =D

Peace!! lol

The way of the Cross

I was so deeply touched and encouraged by the Christians in China as I watched them through the DVD Gillian lend me. They are my heroes man, prisoners of hope, prayer warriors, man and woman of faith. I can't help but wonder what has God in stored for them, and then I came to a realisation that this DVD is what it's all about. God has used them in such a wonderful wonderful way. The DVD is titled "THE CROSS - Jesus In China".

Some part of the show says the narrator:
"The way of the cross surpasses all human understanding,
The way of the cross is a way of humiliation and glory,
The way of suffereing and joy,
The way of sacrifice and victory."

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11

Amen.

Finding Your Calling

'Finding Your Calling' - Oprah Winfrey HERE! (URL-1) =)
Found this on one of the CGL's blog (believe she's from JOL also)
Anyway I believe also that most of us have heard of Oprah Winfrey right?!
She was voted the America's MOST influential/powerful women (it was couple months ago I think)
See what she has to say in this casual 4min30sec interview with one of the audience, about 'finding your calling' or 'purpose in life'.

("Greatness is determined by service" Amen!)

This reminds me of a site that I'd come across:
I would say, you can know ALL about Oprah HERE! (URL-2) =)
This URL provides you her interview/biography/profile/photo gallery

BE INSPIRED man!!
As you're reading about Oprah.. keep in mind she was like any other Mary, Jane or Siti and that most of us at a young age, were brought up in much fortunate environments compared to hers.
(take cooking for an analogy: "If Yen can cook so can you!")
If she can do it, WHY NOT WE?! YAY!!!

YAY Free time!

Last fri was my last day of work ahah I had fun working with the people there.. what a bunge of great people =D

So today is the frist day of my "long holiday".
After that period of being an 'admin asistant', I've learnt to appreciate(as in really) the free time given to me now.
So this definitely is the start of a journey to a more fruitful lifestyle haha.

Went to meet Jason, Mr Wee long, Jimmy, Qimin, jy, Kian loong and Sebas for dinner at Pepperlunch just now. Well it's my first time eating the food and it wasn't bad at all just that it still wasn't enough for me leh hmm so sebas shared with me some of his rice heh heh! Sometimes I fantasize being born a rice cooker.. always filled with rice then can kapo while the owner's not watching.. but wait.. rice cooker able to eat and taste meh??! aiya.. being a human is the best of all best la lol praise the Lord! Yep these crazy thoughts really are crazy huh.. okok skip skip.

So we had a great time fellowshipping.. got really crazy and mad and loud and funny and stuff wahaha I love it! I htink we're a bunge of people who really knows how to "make FUN".
COowwwoOL!

Anyway I'm just really glad really.
Glad that we met up and stuff haha =)

Then we went home lol
And on our way home hmm well..
So much for trying to get everything figured out as of our very human nature.. I made a commitment to not let anything of the past/future get in the way of living a fruitful and meaningful life everyday.
What does your forever turthful heart tells you about happiness? I believe the visions and dreams planted in our hearts will manifest/come to pass.. what about you? Please dont lose that hope, follow your heart, dont ever deny it. Move on forward consistently, dont ever look back for our destiny's calling out to us from ahead.

For He's Faithful

lol here's sth interesting.. did a DNA test at
www.personaldna.com

It may be true to a certain extent but it's still kinda overrated overall haah

Check out
My personalDNA Report
if you would =D

lol.. (after reading) im like the nicest guy now huh (love these tests lol)
.. well there're much more versions of these 'nice guys' descriptions.. wait till you read the others.. go see how yours would turn out.

Have ya'll noticed the advent of these personlity tests.. sometimes it sounds lame to you.. but you just wanna take sometime to do it.. perhaps we have this urge to wanna know who we really are.
We all have asked one same question before somewhere in our lives: "Who am I?!!"
Well i know.. you're like.. "huh weird.. i doubt so.."
trust me you have.. yes you do

God has planted in us a desire to live.. and also to live A life of meaning and purpose.
What could be greater than living a purposeful, hopeful life?

Okok maybe not "who am I?" as you are not the Jacky Chan type or just thinking of him turns you off whatever..
How bout "What am i to do here?(on earth)", many of us know we ALL deserve to live a good life despite our current circumstances might ask "what do i have in me that could bring forth change"
We can all come out with various versions of such at some point
Most probably these questions have been hanging around your mind for sometime in the past and has faded away.. now do they sound familiar to you? think again..

I believe all of us are meant for greatness.. all of us have a significant part to play in this ever-changing world, yes ALL and that includes you buddy. I believe all of us can live a life, also the life that we say we want to have..
Don't give up if you are the one who's on the verge to.. stay hopeful because the truth is that there's HOPE.. always there's still.. for He loves you and He's faithful. Some might not know Jesus yet but He loves you and He's forever faithful.

The real you inside is gonna do much much greater things in the future.. things that surpasses all of your current understanding and expectations..
Dont lose hope! Don't limit God.. stay faithful for He is faithful..

Looking at your problems you might think you have shrinked so much.. but in His eyes he only sees the final master piece - the real you, who's able to overcome, who's able to pick him/herself up in such circumstances and who's willing to let Him help and who's also willing to lift up his/her sight from the problems and see His goodness and blessings ahead.

HOPE buddy..

=)

Uncle brought his and our family to dinner today!
On our way to meet them Mom recalled how blessed we are to have people taking us out for dinner for the past few weekends
Most of the time Aunt Rosy would bring us out, to nice places for a meal and buy us gifts
She a really kind and generous lady who never fails to fill my parents with awe
She's someone who'd go the extra mile to help.. to do little things to brighten up our day especially my grandmother's
Never before have i met someone like that..

My parents have been really tied down by work and the fatigue after work
They hardly have time (or rather the mood) for recreational activities
BUT once in awhile now they get to go to nice places.. places/experiences better than what i have been telling them about..
and now, sometimes we get a little taste of 'luxurious living'

You know this whole thing to me is more than just food and pleasure..
The exposure to this kinda life (of abundance)just provides my parents with something more to have hope for
I pray that the hopes and dreams of them wouldn't fade.
They have selfless hopes for me and i believe so.. there's so much more i can do to be a blessing.. the salt and light in their lives.

you guys wanna know how blessed I'm feeling right now?
I'm blogging using jy's laptop (in my house!)(he's not in my house!!)(he's very far away in punggol and he LEND his LAPTOP to me!!)
wow.. lol.. i wouldn't have done that if i was him hahaha
hey thanks brother!

Make up your mind NOW!

It's my fourth day at work haha
It's an admin job in an insurance company, 10 minutes walk from Boon Keng station.
I feel that it's time for me to work, to start moving my "wheels" because they were rusty once. Thank God they've been "oiled" again. But what's the big deal, if I'm not gonna move them anyway?

Anyway, I've just found out lately how lazy and irresponsible I can become or rather am.
Work starts at 8 30am means I have to wake up at 6am plus.
Came home late at night from grandma's birthday dinner yesterday haha.. so I really really had a tough time waking up this morning, didn't feel like going to work man.

So after I was disturbed by the alarm there was a battle going on in my head on whether should I go to work or not until a "voice" interupted:

'Make up your mind NOW!'

Boi I was awakened right away, I felt convicted and immediately my integrity(conscience) being questioned.

It's amazing how powerful a thought.. so delicate yet intangible could manifest itself.. when I set my mind on how I was feeling then(the fatigue).. it's almost effortless to come up with lots of excuses on why I can't, which means I could've lied to my colleagues (yuo wouldn't want to tell them you couldn't turn up because you were just pure tired right)

Anyway, the same pattern happened when I start to think of what's right. Immediately it exposed what would become of me if I had given in to the spirit of complacency. It'll probably make me an undiscipline, irresponsible, unreliable person. No I don't want to be deceived, especially if that's the effect of just a mere switch of thought. I don't want to be a person like that man.

Joyce Meyer once said that "We can feel not right but still do what's right"
if only we set our minds fully on what's good and not at all on what corrupts. It always appears to be just a tiny thought.. but this is all it takes for it to instantly manifest and you could wake up one day realising how surprisingly, unknowingly it has cost you.

Indeed.. "make up your mind NOW!". A command. This or that. Yes or no. Obey or not.

Spirit of complacency and that of mediocrity is a deceiving attitude that tells you it's okay, it's just a thought, it's okay it's just a part-time job dont type a big fuzz about it. It sounds great but now we know it's not choosing what sounds good/"what we wanna hear" but what is good. One of Robert kiyosaki's audio CD package is titled: 'You Can Choose To Be Rich' (haha ok abit not-so-link)
Similarly, I was told by Someone that we can CHOOSE to do what's right.

I feel this is one of the ways we overcome evil by good.. by choosing to think of what's good and pleasant instead of the former despite our emotions. It requires discipline ofcourse, there's no need for it if dealing with emotions is easy ahah.. I was really really sianz until that voice interceded for good.. what powerful words hmm..

What's good always prevails in the end.. what's good is victorious in nature. Yay!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sianz.. haven't seen 8WF people for weeks le.. I miss you all la LOL
